Geneva or the North Pole?

I may be repeating myself, but I hate the cold. I. HATE. THE. COLD. AND. THE. WIND.

However, this week there were some slight perks (yes, really). The newspapers have been full of the amazing, unique, once-in-a-lifetime landscapes at the Geneva lakeside, so I actually ventured out early before work on a couple of mornings (yes, you heard me right) to take some pictures.

I will do almost anything to take in a beautiful landscape. Including freezing my **s off and not feeling my fingers or toes anymore. I have never seen anything like it before, and apparently, the most impressive sculptures are not even in Geneva, but in Versoix (not far from here).

Take it in virtually... Some of it, anyway.

It has been bitterly cold in Geneva for a few weeks now. And while I hate the cold with a passion, I think back to the few months in South America and count my blessings that I have a heating and a warm blanket to cuddle into! We spent countless nights in the South American Andes wearing layers of thermal underwear and woolen socks, with multiple blankets, desperately trying to feel warm on a stone bed in a room with no isolation at 4000 metres altitude. We were rarely successful. Was it worth it, you ask? See for yourself. Here are just some pictures of the landscapes we saw after such sleepless nights...

Moving flat

Working in marketing, I love anything pretty. Moving flat is the perfect opportunity to look for inspiration as well as an excuse to buy pretty things and spend hours wondering how to decorate my very own 52 square meter flat. Freshome.com helps me do so :)

Sadly, my flat in Geneva is small, overpriced and has a rather boring layout with an extremely uninteresting view of the building across the street. A girl can keep dreaming though... Maybe someday..?

Beginning of January blues... The time I'm still exhausted from New Year's Eve, figuring out how to get on track with my resolutions, and upset about the cold and yucky weather. While cuddling under my blanket wondering how to get my toes warm, I'm dreaming of the Parque Nacional Tayrona in beautiful Colombia. It's paradise on earth - especially after hardcore traveling for 4 months, which was the case for me when I was there in July 2011. Pure relaxation, warmth, sun, an absolutely magical Carribbean coast, the best travel buddies, sleeping in hammocks, playing cards and reading books. The only way to get there is by trekking through the forest for 1 hour, all worth it for the untouched beaches. See for yourself, don't be too jealous...
